- Great but with some minor flaws Review by Thomas
-
Rating
This game does require you to be a think-tank because little mistakes can often be very unforgiving. So players who easily get angry at losing and players who are not interested in spending an evening mulling over their every move should avoid this game.
The minor flaws come out in this game due to various aspects of the game. For one, some borders and regions that are based off of the novel don't balance well in game. Also, some of the chance based events can heavily impact the potential success of some houses/players.
Some of this can be remedied with a little trial and error with implemented fixes.
In conclusion, most strategy and diplomatic players will love this game. A Song of Ice and Fire fans will also enjoy how shrewd players have to be and the resemblance that has with some characters in the book/film series. (Posted on 15-09-09) - Great war game Review by Todd
- I see this game as the spiritual successor of Diplomacy by way of Machiavelli. Lots to love here as the theme of the books is captured well in a territory control game that incorporates bidding for political resources and managing tight supply limitations. (Posted on 13-08-29)
